the idea

Mallorca is where deep water soloing was born. You climb sea cliffs with no rope and no harness. When you fall, or when you're done, you drop into the sea.

We mix it with the island's best: a bike day on the roads pro cycling teams train on, a canyon in the Tramuntana mountains, and a sea kayak along the coast. Try everything, or skip what you don't like.

Why October

The sea is still warm from summer, which matters when you're falling into it. The crowds are gone, and it's great cycling weather: sunny, not too hot.

what this adventure is made of

Where psicobloc was born

Deep water soloing

Local climbers started climbing Mallorca's sea cliffs without ropes in the late 1970s. In 2006 Chris Sharma climbed Es Pontàs, a giant sea arch, one of the hardest routes of its kind. We start much easier, with a local guide.

Ride Sa Calobra

The pros' favourite climb

Pro cycling teams train in Mallorca every winter. Sa Calobra is the famous one: 9.4 km of hairpin bends, with a spot where the road loops under itself, called the knot of the tie.

Canyons and sea caves

Tramuntana and the coast

A guided canyon day in the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. And a sea kayak along the cliffs, into caves you can only reach from the water.
